Email support@hayah.dev, or use Settings → Help → "Report a problem" in the app, which fills in the app version for you. If a book won't open, tell us its format and the message the app showed. We usually reply within two working days.

Common questions

What does Pro add, and what is free?

Free: every format except CBR, bookmarks, highlights, search, the Auto, Light and Dark themes and 3 EPUB to PDF exports. EPUB Reader Pro, a one-time purchase, adds unlimited EPUB to PDF export, read aloud, highlight export, sepia pages, your own fonts, CBR comics and right-to-left page turning. If you used version 1.0 on your PC, you keep everything free there.

I bought Pro but the app still shows the free version

Open Get Pro in the app and press Restore purchase. Make sure the Microsoft Store is signed in with the account you bought with. Pro works on every PC where you use that account.

Which formats does it open?

EPUB, MOBI, AZW3, FB2 and PDF books, and CBZ comic books (CBR with Pro), as long as they are DRM-free.

A book says it is DRM-protected

Books bought on Amazon Kindle, or locked with Adobe DRM or Readium LCP, only open in the app they were bought from (the Kindle app, Adobe Digital Editions or your library's app). EPUB Reader never removes DRM. Many shops sell DRM-free books, and public-domain books (for example from Project Gutenberg or Standard Ebooks) are always DRM-free.

How do I add books?

Use Add books or Add folder in the library, drag files or folders onto the window, or right-click a book in File Explorer and choose Open with → EPUB Reader. Installing the app never makes it the default for any file type; Windows asks you.

The text has big gaps between words

Turn off Justify text under Appearance (it is off by default). The book then keeps its own alignment.

Read aloud says no voice is installed

Read aloud uses the voices installed in Windows. Add a voice for the book's language in Windows Settings → Time & language → Speech.

How do I export to PDF?

Open the book, then choose Export to PDF from the reader's menu. You can export all pages or a range such as 1-5, 8. Three exports are free; Pro makes them unlimited.

Where are my highlights and reading positions?

On your PC, in the app's own folder. They are not synced between PCs.

Are my books uploaded?

No. Everything happens on your PC. See the privacy policy.
